Seeking The Lost Sheep In The Church:
 Who Don't Know They're Lost

                    BACK

UNSAVED CHRISTIANS

IN THE HOUSE BUT NOT IN GOD
Can one can be in the house, but not be in the family?  One can find the answer in Exodus and the house covered by the blood of the lamb.
(also see  God's House)
In the house are strangers, foreigners, citizens, children, sons, and saints; but not all of them will
receive the promise of God.  In Exodus, anyone who believed that they would be destroyed
if they weren't in the house that God provided, got in the house.  From the cross and beyond, anyone who believes that only the cross can save them is in the house.  In both cases though, it isn't being in the house that gets one into the promised kingdom, it's seeking God and gaining a relationship.  Gaining the promised kingdom doesn't rely on works, but on a relationship.  One can be in the house without desiring a relationship.  Too many people speak some words as a preacher leads to be saved but in their hearts want nothing to do with the Lord's ways.  How many think they will receive the promise because they go to church on Sunday, yet have no relationship with God?  God is the very reason to go to church.  The purpose of church is to gain a relationship with God.  Knowing who God is doesn't save one, it's knowing God.

DEAD SONS OF GOD

THE SON THAT RETURNS

This is a picture of Father God and his children.  It can also be seen that calling ones self a son doesn't make him one.  Having the mind-set of a son makes him one.  Furthermore, one can see that it isn't the Father that kicks out the son, but rather the son who makes a decision to leave the Father.  If one is a son and chooses to leave the Father, then it is their own choice not to be in the kingdom.  It is also seen that when one goes to hell, it isn't the father who made that choice.  In truth, this is not a son, but only a child.  When one is a son, they won't leave.  He wasn't a son, though born into the house, until his return.  Then he was a real son, and he would never leave again, at least not in his heart.

Lk 15:10-11
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God
over one sinner that repenteth.  And he said, A certain man had two sons:

Lk 15:13 not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey
into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
This is like a son of God who is selfish with his life and what God has given him and walks away.

Lk 15:18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned
             against heaven, and before thee,
He repents and returns where he regains his life.
Lk 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.
This verse says the son lives AGAIN, revealing that while the selfish son was living for himself, he was dead; but that he was previously alive.  It also sheds light on the lost sheep of verse 4 which is found.

Lk 15:19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired
             servants.
We start as a hired servant.  (See Servant) When one chooses to stay and serve after freedom is granted because a bond has developed, one has become a son.  One is a son (Rom 8:14) when he is led by the spirit of God.

THE SON THAT DOESN'T RETURN

Eph 2:2
in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the
prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience
Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience

Note that these are children of God.  If they were children of the devil they wouldn't be considered disobedient, they do walk according to that spirit.  We (1 Thes 5:9) are not appointed to wrath.

Col 3:5-6 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication,
uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is
            idolatry:
For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of
            disobedience:

For verses which reveal who the children of wrath are, see warnings.

Mt 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his
life for my sake shall find it

Jn 3:19-21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.   For every one
that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be
reproved.  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God
One who knows about the cross and the blood of Christ, yet follows the world rather than
the way of Christ; is under this condemnation. This does not include those times of weakness, but the lifestyle and refusal to alter from it.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.
These are holding the truth, but not walking in it.  They know it, but won't live it.  These get angry if anyone tries to remind them it's wrong, they already know it.  They usually try to hide it, again because they know.

UNFAITHFUL SERVANTS
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life
When one comes to the cross they become servants, not sons.  The cross is the only place and time one can be free from sin and the verse says NOW.  Those servants who decide not to obey or serve are cast out because they don't produce fruit.  Those who are cast out must have entered or they couldn't be cast out and one can only enter through the cross.

Mt 24:48-51 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his
        coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the
        drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him,
and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his
portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mt 24:37-39 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man
be.   For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,   And knew
not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of
        man be
Lk 17:26-30 as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day
that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.   Likewise
also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they
planted, they builded;   But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and
brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.   Even thus shall it be in the day when
the Son of man is revealed

THE UNFRUITFUL

THE SLOTHFUL

Mt 25:14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called
his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

Mt 25:25 I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo,
there thou hast that is
        thine.

Mt 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant
Mt 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my
coming I should have received mine own with usury

Mt 25:30 cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping
    and gnashing of teeth.

This servant was called slothful.  If he wasn't willing to do the work himself, then he should have given  the goods his lord had given him to the church so the church could produce some fruit from it.

THE PROCRASTINATOR AND NON STARTER

Mt 13:19
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth [it] not,
then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.
Some say they will worry about God later but never do.  Others never get past knowing what Jesus did because they consider that enough.  They never understand that the scriptural commands are not suggestions.  They don't understand that eternal life in on the way Mt 7:13-14 not just through the gate.

MEN PLEASERS

Mt 13:20--21 he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;   Yet hath he not
root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because
of the word, by and by he is offended.
Not many in the church today would lose their head rather than denounce Christ?  Some
(Mk 8:38)are ashamed of speaking their beliefs, and others (Jn 12:43) loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

THE SELFISH
Mt 13:22 he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of
riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
These don't give their tithes.  They don't help those in need.  They don't visit the sick.  They are too selfish to help others because it would mean giving up something.
    When the trial comes
(1 Pe 4:12) they can't stand.
Mt 25:41-46 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed,
into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye
gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
I was a stranger, and ye took
me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me
        not.
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or
athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto
        thee?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it
not to one of the least of these, ye did
it not to me.  And these shall go away into
everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

This is what James says (Ja 2:26), faith without works is dead.
Ja 2:14-16 What
doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not
        works? can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily
        food,
  And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what
doth
        it
profit?

THE UNPREPARED
Mt 24:44
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man
        cometh

None of the above are prepared.

THE GOODMAN'S SERVANT
Mt 24:42-44 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know
this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he
would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

THE BETROTHED
Mt 25:1
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their
lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

Mt 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
Mt 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out
        to meet him.

Mt 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out
Mt 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went
in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut

Mt 25:11-13 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.  But he
answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
  Watch therefore, for ye
know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

        Rev 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is
come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

SICK BODY PARTS
Rom 12:5 So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of
        another.
1 Cor 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that
one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.
1Cor 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the
head to the feet, I have no need of you.
1Cor 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should
have the same care one for another
Every body part has a role in the function of the body, and every part is equal in importance.  The head is Christ.  Some fail to do their job because they believe more honor is in being another part.

    Eph 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ
Eph 4:14 That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, [and] cunning craftiness, whereby
they lie in wait to deceive
Eph 4:16 according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase
of the body unto the edifying of itself in love
Eph 4:17-19 henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the
ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:   Who being past
feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with
        greediness.
Some sick body parts go past the point of being weak and not doing their job to the stage of being cancerous.  When these start to affect other parts and to grow, they are in serious trouble and nigh unto cursing.

Mt 5:29-30 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for it is
profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body
should be cast into hell.   And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast [it]
from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
[that] thy whole body should be cast into hell.
This is the result of cancerous parts as evidenced by the next verses.
Mt 18:15-17 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault
between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.   But if he
will not hear [thee, then] take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or
three witnesses every word may be established.   And if he shall neglect to hear them,
tell [it] unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an
        heathen man and a publican.
The word goes on to say that what is bound on earth is bound in heaven.  Heaven stands behind this act of the church, but the true church is being led by the Spirit and won't take things to this level without the approval and agreement of the Father.  In fact, they are doing it because it is the will of the Father.

THE CARNALLY MINDED
BABES

1 Cor 3:1-
3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnal,  even as unto babes in Christ.  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for
hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is
                            life and peace.

1Cor 3:4
For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I [am] of Apollos; are ye not
         carnal?

These have not gained the understanding that one needs a relationship with God.  They are still following a man even though the man is pointing to Jesus.

1Pe 2:1-2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and
all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may
        grow thereby
