THE TRUE CHURCH -- (MEMBERS)
There are many religions today, but
none is the true church. The true
church is a body of people sprinkled
throughout these groups. Being part
of his church
is not just attending a gathering once a week, but a relationship,
a lifestyle. The true
church
is a follower and disciple of Christ, which
requires reading the bible, the word of
God,
on ones own. This is seeking
and this is the food to grow as a
child of God. God gave
many physical
attributes
to
the true church so we could
understand this better.
Be sure the bible you
read
is as close to what God
actually
said as possible.
(see
God's word) Any religion claiming to be the one true church is, without a
doubt, a false one.
They usually claim credit for salvation rather than giving that honor to
Christ.
This is revealed when they say one cannot leave their religion and still be
saved.
One must decide whether the church they attend is their
salvation;
or whether it
is Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Any religion teaching
truth speaks
that one can attend any they desire,
but hold fast to Christ wherever they
belong.
These are true churches, but not THE true church. (see
False Church)
This study will show that there are ‘The Lost’
among the saved in these true
churches. There are also the saved
within the false
churches. One is, however, to
depart from it when the truth is revealed.
If one fears leaving, it is even
more
sure a false church. Do not worry or fear, God will give any true
seeker the
peace to leave and go where the truth
is taught.
Christ is their head and he is with
them
wherever they go.
This is shown
in the wheat and tares growing up together. Who reigns in your life,
Christ or your church?
I. INFORMATION
A. IT IS NOT A BUILDING
I Cor 16:19 with
the church that is in their house
Col 4:15 salute the church that is in
Nymphas’ house
II. THE TRUE CHURCH
Heb 3:6 Christ as a son is faithful over his
own house
Heb 3:6 We are this house if we hold fast the
confidence and rejoicing
1 Pe 2:5 As lively stones we are built a
spiritual house
Mt 5:13 We are the salt of the earth
Mt 5:14 We are the light of the world
III. THE FALSE CHURCH (see false
church)
Mt 24:4 Take heed that NO man deceive you
Mt 24:5 Many will come in the name of Christ
They will say that Jesus is the Christ
They will deceive many
Mt 15:9 In vain they do worship me, teaching
for doctrine the commandments of men
I Tim 4:1 The Spirit says:
In the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing
spirits and doctrines of devils
They will speak lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared
They will forbid to marry
They will forbid to eat meat
II Tim 3:5 Some will have a form of godliness
but deny the power thereof
3:5 From such turn away
3:6 They creep into houses and capture
silly women laden
with sins
3:6 They are captured by diverse lusts
3:7 They are ever learning, but never
come to knowledge of truth
3:8 These resist the truth
(The only way to know the truth is to search
the scriptures for
yourself. Jesus said that many would come in
his name and deceive many. How can you know if your pastor is one?
I say again, read the scripture. God is a rewarder
of them that diligently seek him. This isn’t by going to church once a
week. You can trust your pastor or you can check for yourself.
Considering that your eternal destiny depends on knowing the truth, DON'T put it
in someone else’s hands, there is one chance.
At death it is too late to find that you were led astray. You’ll be
wherever you are forever. I hope it is with the lord, not a false
teacher. Studies
today show an alarming number of pastors believe that only part of the
scripture is true. The CODES prove that it is all true and put down
exactly as God spoke it. This is why scripture says not to change it at
all. Not one jot or one tittle will pass
from the law, which is the first five books of the bible.)
EXAMPLES OF THE CHURCH
I. THE GREAT HOUSE, THE FAMILY OF GOD
II Tim 2:20 In a great house there are vessels of
gold and silver,
of wood and earth; some to honor, and some to dishonor.
VESSELS OF HONOR
II Tim 2:21 One is a VESSEL OF HONOR
if:
2:15 One studies to show himself:
approved unto God
a workman that needeth
not be ashamed
rightly dividing the word of God
2:16 He
shuns vain and profane babblings
2:19 He
departs from iniquity
2:21 He
purges himself from the vessels of dishonor, from
the
wood and the earthen vessels
(Come out from among them, and be ye separate.)
2:11 If one is dead
(to the world) with Christ, He will live with
him
2:12 If one suffers, he shall reign
with Christ
2:22 Flee also youthful lusts
Follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that
call on the lord out of a pure heart
VESSELS OF DISHONOR
II Tim 2:12 If one denies Christ, He will
also be denied
II Tim 2:13 If one believes not, Christ is
faithful; He can’t deny himself
(He is the word, he can’t
deny the word. It is not saying that if we don’t
believe he
still gets us into the kingdom.)
Heb 3:10 God was grieved with a generation,
and said, they do
always err in their hearts; they have not known my way
3:11 So I
swear
in my wrath, they shall not enter my rest
3:17 God grieved for them that sinned
3:18 God
swore
to them that they would not enter his rest, but
they didn’t believe Him.
(note: They
certainly believed who he was and what he was able
to do,
but they didn’t know his ways. They sinned even though they were
warned
that they would not enter his rest. They provoked him because they
did
sin willfully even after the warnings. Surely there were those who
sinned
in
moments of weakness, but they weren’t mentioned. They didn’t provoke
God.)
II Tim 2:25 Them that appose themselves
2:26 They are in the snare of the
devil, taken captive at his will
II. THE HOUSE
Lk 6:46 Why call
ye me Lord and do not the things that I say?
Lk 6:47 He that
comes to me, HEARS my words, and DOES
them is like:
Lk 6:48 A man
that built a house
He dug deep and laid the foundation on a rock
The flood rose, the stream beat vehemently
upon the house
The house could not be shaken, it was founded
upon
a rock
Lk 6:49 He that
HEARS and DOES NOT DO is like:
Lk 6:49 A man
without a foundation
Lk 6:49 He builds
his house on the earth (the world)
Lk 6:49 The
stream beat on the house and it
immediately fell
Lk 6:49 The ruin
of that house was great
THE FOUNDATION
I Cor 3:10 According
to the grace of God given unto Paul
I Cor 3:10 Paul,
as a master builder, has laid a foundation
I Cor 3:11 That
foundation is Christ
Eph 2:19 The household of God
Eph 2:20 built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets
Eph 2:20 Jesus Christ is the chief corner
stone
I Tim 6:18 Do good, be willing to communicate
I Tim 6:19 This lays up a good foundation
against the time to come
I Tim 6:19 That you may lay hold on eternal
life
Heb 6:1 Leaving the principles of the
doctrine of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection
Heb 6:1 Not laying again the foundation:
of repentance from dead works
of faith toward God
of the doctrine of baptisms
of laying on of hands
of the resurrection of the dead
of eternal judgment
THE BODY, HOUSEHOLD, AND BUILDING (HOUSE) ARE THE CHURCH
Eph 2:16 Christ reconciled the circumcision
and the
uncircumcision to God
in one body
Eph 2:19 Gentiles are fellow citizens and of
the
household of God
Eph 2:20 We are built on the foundation of
the apostles
and prophets
(which is Christ)
2:21 In whom all the building
fitly framed together
grows unto a holy temple in the lord
III. THE BODY
Eph 1:22 God, the Father, gave Christ to be
head over all things to
the church
Eph 1:23 The church is his body, the fullness
of him that filleth all
in all
Eph 4:10 He ascended far above all heavens,
that he might fill
all things
Eph 4:8 When Christ ascended on high, he gave
gifts to men
Eph 4:11 He gave apostles, prophets,
evangelists, pastors,
and teachers
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints,
for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ
Eph 4:15 Speaking the truth in love to grow
up in Christ the head
Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly
joined together receives
from every joint according to the working of each part, making
increase
of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Eph 5:23 Christ is the head of the church and
the savior of the body
Eph 5:24 The church is subject unto Christ
Eph 2:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse
the church with
the washing of water by the word
Eph 2:27 That he might (not definitely)
present it to himself a
glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Col 1:18 Christ is the head of the body, the
church
Col 1:19 It pleased the father that in him
should all fullness dwell
Col 1:21 You that were alienated by wicked
works, hath he
reconciled
Col 1:22 to present you holy,
unblameable, unreproveable
in
his sight
Col 1:23 IF ye continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and
be not
moved away
from the hope of the gospel, which ye
have heard, and which was preached
to every creature which
is under heaven
Col 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man,
and teaching
every man in
all wisdom; that we may present every man
perfect in Christ Jesus
I Cor 12:12 As the body is one, and hath
many members, and all
the members of that one body, being many, are one body; so also
is Christ.
I Cor 12:13 By
one Spirit are we all baptized into one body
I Cor 12:14 For
the body is not one member, but many
I Cor 12:7 The
manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to
profit all
I Cor 12:11 All
these worketh the Spirit, dividing to every man
as he will
THE NONWORKING MEMBERS
Mt 5:29 If thy right eye offend thee, pluck
it out
Mt 5:30 If thy right hand offend thee, cut it
off
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural
branches, take
heed lest he also spare not thee
THE UNRIGHTEOUS MEMBERS
II Pe 2:4 If God
spared not the angels that sinned
II Pe 2:5 And
spared not the old world, but
saved Noah
II Pe 2:6-7 And
turned the cities of Sodom and
Gomorrah into ashes, but delivered just Lot
II Pe 2:9 The
Lord knows how to deliver the godly
out of temptation and
to reserve the unjust unto the
day of judgment to be punished
II Pe 2:10 Chiefly
them that walk after the flesh in the
lust of uncleanness
and despise government
II Pe 2:20 For if
after they have escaped the pollutions
of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ (this is the cross), they are again
entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is
worse with them than the beginning.
IV. THE VINE
Jn 15:1 Christ is
the true vine and our Father is the husbandman
Jn 15:2 Every
branch in him that beareth not fruit is taken away
Jn 15:6 These are
taken away and burned
Jn 15:5 He that
abideth in Christ and Christ in them bears
much
fruit
