THE DESTINY OF MAN
Here this bible study shows what God
has to say about man and his
purpose on this earth. A closer look at who God is will,
hopefully, draw the
reader closer by means of revealing what he has done in Israel and his
patience
and mercy. GOD LOVES YOU and has made the way for you.

THE DESTINY
OF MAN
I. GOD’S
PURPOSE FOR CREATION
Thou hast created all
things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created
A. GOD’S PLEASURE IN MAN - A
RELATIONSHIP
Ecc.
12:13 Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole
duty
of man
Ps 146:11
The lord takes pleasure in them that fear him, and hope in
his mercy
(note:
Not for the fear, but for it’s result)
Hos 6:6 I desired mercy and not sacrifice; and the knowledge
of God
more
than burnt offerings
Hos 12:6
Therefore turn thou to thy God, keep mercy and judgment
and
wait on thy God continually
Mica
6:8 He has shown thee oh man what is good and what doth the
Lord
require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk
humbly
with thy God
Zech
7:9 Thus speaketh the lord of hosts saying: execute true
judgment,
and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother
and oppress
not the widow, the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor
and let none
of you imagine evil against his brother in his heart
Mt
22:37-40 Thou shalt love the lord thy God with all thy heart, with
all thy
soul, and with all thy mind
B. GOD’S PLEASURE IN MATERIAL THINGS
Ps
35:27 Let the lord be magnified which has pleasure in the
prosperity
of his servant
Lk 12:32
Fear not, little flock; for it is your father’s good pleasure
to give
you the kingdom
Mt 7:11
How much more shall your father which is in heaven give
good things
to them that ask
Rom
8:14 Only those who are led by the spirit of God are sons
of God
(note: Those not led by the spirit of God
can’t expect to receive
from him because
he is not their father.)
II.
MAN’S ATTITUDE
A. GO
HIS OWN WAY
Zech 7:11 They refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder
and stopped
their ears that they should not hear
(note: Man only wants to hear about receiving
from God not the
requirements to
receive.)
Lk 8:13 In time of temptation they fall away
8:14
They are choked by cares, riches, and pleasures of this world
II Tim 3:2-4 Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous,
boasters,
proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
… lovers
of pleasures more than
lovers of God
III.
GOD’S RESPONSE
A. WARN MAN
1. HOW - PROPHETS
Jer 7:13 I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking but ye
heard
not; and I called you but ye answered not
Jer 7:25 Since your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt
unto
this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets,
daily
rising up and sending them
Jer 28:8 The prophets before me and thee of old prophesied both
against many countries, and against great kingdoms; of war,
evil, and
pestilence
2. WHAT
a. REPENT AND OBEY
Jer 3:14 Turn O backsliding children
Jer 18:8 If they turn from their evil, I will repent
of the evil that I thought to do to them
Mt 3:2 John the Baptist said repent ye, for the kingdom of
heaven is
at hand
Lk 7:28 Among those born of women, there is not a greater
prophet than John the Baptist
Mt 4:17 Jesus said repent, for the kingdom of heaven is
at
hand
Lk 13:3 & 5 Jesus said except ye repent, ye shall all likewise
perish
Mt 10:34 Jesus said, I came not to send peace on the Earth
but a
sword
b. BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS AND TEACHERS
Jer 6:13 from prophet to priest everyone deals falsely
Mt 7:15 beware of false prophets
II Pet 2:1 there shall be false teachers among you
1. THEIR WORDS
Jer 14:15 false prophets say no sword or famine shall be in
the
land
II Pet 2:1 damnable heresies
Jer 28:9 & 15 Hananiah prophesied of peace but God
Said that he didn’t send him
(note: I believe this also is speaking of them
who say once
saved always saved
This is contrary to what the Bible says. It also refers to
them who say
ask
God, he will give it to you, but don’t tell of the requirements
to receive.
It
also includes the pastors who say to claim Christ as your savior;
because the
Bible says to claim him as
Lord, master, and then he becomes
one’s savior.)
IV.
MAN’S TWO RESPONSES TO GOD’S WARNINGS
A. REPENT AND OBEY
Mt 3:13-18 The
sower of the seed – one fourth seek
Mt 25:1-11
The ten virgins – One half seek
Mt 24:42-51
The lord’s servants – Beware if not serving
Mt 25:14:30
The lord’s servants – Reward to doers and punishment
to others
B. IGNORE AND DISBELIEVE WARNINGS
Heb 3:17-19 It
grieved God because he swore that those who sinned
would not
enter the promise, but they didn’t believe him
Jn 12:47
If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not:
for I came
not to judge the world, but to save it
Jn 12:48 He that rejected me, and receiveth not my words, hath one
that judgeth him the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge
him in the last
day
V. RESULT
A.
THE
OBEDIENT
1. CHASTISEMENT
Rev 3:19 as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten
Heb 12:5 despise not the chastening of the lord and faint
not when thou art rebuked of him
Heb 12:6 whom the lord loveth, he chasteneth
Heb 12:7 if ye endure chastening, God deals with you as sons
Heb 12:8 if ye are without chastisement, ye are not sons
2. REWARD
Heb 6:12 follow them who, through faith and patience, inherit
the
promise
Lk 6:22-23 blessed are those who are shunned and hated for
the
Lord’s
sake their reward is great in heaven
Col 3:23-24 do your work as unto the lord for it is the lord who
shall give the
reward of the inheritance – for ye serve the
Lord Jesus Christ
Heb 11:6 God is a rewarder of them who diligently seek him
B. THE DISOBEDIENT AND SELF SERVING
Phil 3:18-19 many walk as enemies of the cross of Christ whose
end
is
destruction, whose God is their belly, who mind earthly
things
II Thes 1:8-9 Jesus returns taking vengeance in flaming fire on
them
that know
not God and obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who shall be
punished with everlasting destruction from
the presence of our lord
Mt 25:30 the unprofitable servant is cast into outer darkness
(note: Israel lost the kingdom because
they were unprofitable servants)
II Pet 2:1 them denying the lord Jesus Christ bring upon
themselves
swift
destruction
(note: deny means to contradict, disavow,
reject)
II Pet 3:16 them that wrest with the scriptures unto their
own
destruction
(note: wrest means to wrench, torture,
pervert)
