GLOSSARY
 

 (From 'Strong's Exhaustive Concordance'
           The definitions of the following words are an integral part of the message that I am trying to get across in this study.  This is why the contents are such as they are.

APOSTLE      -A delegate, ambassador, of the gospel
                        -Officially, a commissioner of Christ with miraculous powers
APPOINT       -Arrange thoroughly, to institute
BISHOP
         -Inspection, (from a root word – inspector)
BUILD            -To be a house builder, (from a base word – architecture
                        or structure)
CHURCH       -A calling out i.e. a meeting, (from two words meaning –
                        to call out and the point of origin.)
  (note:  Christ is the point
                        of origin)
DEACON       -To be an attendant, to wait upon, (from a root – to run errands)
ELDER           -Older or senior, (note: This is spiritually speaking.)
EVANGELIST-A preacher of the gospel, (from a root – to tell the good news)
ORDAIN        -To set down permanently, to designate
PASTOR        -Old Test.        -To tend a flock, generally to rule
                            (only in Jeremiah)
                        -New Test.       -A shepherd (only once, in Ephesians)
PETER           -A piece of rock
PRIEST          -A priest, (from a root – to be sacred or holy)
PREACHER  -To herald, as a public crier of divine truth 
PROPHET      -A foreteller or inspired speaker
ROCK            -A mass of rock
SAINT            -Sacred, physically pure, morally blameless, ceremonially to
                         consecrate, (Saint is the same word used for holy.  Holy, in
                        Holy Spirit, is the same word used for saint.)
SION              -A hill in Jerusalem, (figuratively – the church)
TEACHER     -Instructor, (from a root – to learn and teach)
ZION              -A mountain in Jerusalem, as a permanent capital, (I believe
                        this is spiritual)
