DESTINY OF ISRAEL
God does not relent of his promises,
nor does he lie. He promised Abram
(Abraham) three things and only two have come to pass.
He has become a
great nation and he has blessed the world in Jesus Christ.
The only thing left
that has not been fulfilled is to have all the land. So far Israel
has only had
one tenth of it. There is much more in prophecy not come to pass but it will.
This bible study reveals that where Israel is today is the result of the
covenants at Horeb and Moab. They have lost everything and become a
byword.
THE DESTINY OF ISRAEL
I. GENERAL
A. CALLED
1. CALLED TO BE GOD’S PEOPLE
Ex 3:7 God calls the nation of Israel His people
Ex 3:8 God says He has come down to deliver them
2. THE REQUIREMENTS
Ex 5:23 Moses calls Israel God’s people
Ex 6:1 God says “Now see what I do”.
Ex 6:6 Tell the people that I am the lord
Ex 6:7 I will take you to me for a people and I will be to you
a god and
ye shall know that I am the lord your God
(note: There appears to be a progression here;
from God’s
saying that
they were his people, to Moses saying they were God’s and not
his, to the
people themselves saying it, to the people living it. The
lord is a god until this
point
somewhere in the future.)
B. DELIVERED
Gen 48:21 Israel (Jacob) tells Joseph that God will be with him and
bring him
into the land of his fathers’.
(note: The land is their fathers’.)
Ex chap. 6 – chap. 12 The nation Israel is delivered from Egypt by
God
with a
mighty hand and signs and wonders.
C. CHOSEN
1. THE CALLED AND NOT CHOSEN
Nu 14:11 How long will this people provoke me?
Nu 14:11 How long until they believe, after all the signs?
Nu 14:22 Because all these men saw my glory and miracles
in Egypt and
the wilderness; and tempted me these ten
times and not hearkened
to my voice
Nu 14:23 They shall not see the land that I promised their
fathers;
neither them that provoked me
Heb 3:16-19 God grieved because He had warned them that
they would
not enter, but they wouldn’t believe Him
2. THE CHOSEN / ELECT
Nu 14:24 Caleb follows the lord fully and enters
Nu 14:38 Joshua enters also, he had believed God
(note: Not all that are delivered enter.
There are requirements.)
II. GOD’S
COVENANTS WITH ISRAEL
A. COVENANT AT HOREB
Deu 4:1 Hearken, oh Israel, unto the statutes and unto the
judgments
which I
teach you for to do them, that ye may live and go in and
possess the
land which the lord God of your fathers giveth you
Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add to or diminish from it, that ye may keep the
commandments of the lord your God
Deu 4:13 The statutes are the ten commandments
Deu 5:3 The covenant is with those who are alive, who are entering
the
land
Deu 4:3 Not with those who followed another and were destroyed
Deu 4:4 Only with those who follow God
Deu 5:3 Not with the fathers, but with them present
Deu 4:6-8 If Israel had obeyed God, God would have been revealed
to the
world through them
Deu 4:15 Take heed, ye saw no form or shape of God when he spoke
at Horeb
Deu 4:16 Make no image of God, not a male or female
Deu 4:17 Not any beast on earth, nor bird in the air
Deu 4:18 Not anything that creepeth, not any fish in the waters
Deu 4:19 Do not worship the sun, moon, stars or all the host of heaven
(Note: Worship God only, and directly.
The use of any other means
diminishes from God. The use of statues of saints, crucifixes, or any
other
item is in conflict with what God has just spoken; even if it is of Christ because
he is
God. Prayer to a statue of a saint is no different to God than praying
to
a statue
of Buda. These icons are dead and have no life, pray to God. To
say that this
is Old Testament and does not apply today is to say that God’s
word is not
eternal
and that he is not the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Practices
other than
this are the rules of man, not God.)
B. COVENANT AT MOAB
Deu 29:12-13 Israel and the strangers dwelling with them shall be
God’s
people and he shall be their God
Deu 29:14-15 The covenant is with Israel, others present and with
others
not
present
(This means you and me.)
Deu 29:18-20 Any who walk after the imagination of their heart
rather than
obey the word of God spoken, the lord will not
spare him. Curses
shall be upon him and his name removed from
under heaven.
C. THE PERPETUAL / EVERLASTING COVENANT
Is 61:2 In the year of the lord, the day of vengeance
Is 61:2-3 Them that mourn are comforted in Zion
Is 61:8 God makes an everlasting covenant with Israel
Jer 32:37 The lord gathers Israel and causes them to dwell safely
Jer 32:39 He will cause them to fear Him forever
Jer 32:40 God makes an everlasting covenant to do them good, when
they
fear
Jer 50:4 In those days shall the children of Israel and the children of
Judah come
together weeping, and seeking the lord
Jer 50:5 They will ask the way to Zion and join themselves to the lord
in a
perpetual covenant
Ezek 37:24 When David is king again
Ezek 37:25 They will dwell in the land forever
Ezek 37:26 God makes an everlasting covenant of peace with Israel
III. THE
COVENANT RESULTS
A. HOREB
Deu 4:25 Israel will make a graven image and corrupt themselves in
the
land
Deu 4:26 They shall not prolong their days in the land, but shall be
utterly
destroyed
Deu 4:27 The lord will scatter them among the nations
B. MOAB
Deu 29:22-23 The generation of
Israel to come, and strangers that
come from
afar, shall see the plagues of the land. The land
shall be as when God
overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah
Deu 29:24 All nations shall ask why
Deu 29:25 Because they forsook the covenant of the lord
when he
brought
them out of Egypt
C. PERPETUAL
Deu 28:1-9 God will bless them if obedient
Deu 28:10 All people of the earth will see that Israel is called by the
name of
the lord and fear them
(note: All the things that God has spoken to
Israel have come to
pass in a
small way, or in part. Nations have feared Israel, they have possessed
the
land, etc. None of it has come to the full, however. In the Trib.
all things
will culminate into a finale.)
Deu 32:20 God will hide his face from them
Deu 32:21 God will move them to jealousy with those who are not
a people
(the Christians). God will provoke them to anger with
a foolish
nation.
(note: Christians are not a people, but a mix
of many peoples.)
Deu 32:1-44 The song of Moses
(note: This song is sung in Rev 15:3.
The song speaks of the very end
of
time, and the things that will come upon
Israel. It also speaks of
the
church
being
there, the foolish nation that is not a people.)
IV. GOD’S
RESPONSE TO A STIFF-NECKED PEOPLE
A. WARN
Jer 7:13 Saith the lord, I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking,
but ye
heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not
Jer 7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land
of Egypt unto
this day I have even sent unto you all my
servants the prophets, daily
rising up early and sending them
B. REBUKE
Jer 20:5 I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the
labors
thereof, and all the precious things thereof and all the treasures
of the kings of
Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies
which shall spoil them and take
them, and carry them to Babylon
C. FORSAKE
Mt 23:31-37 The blood of all the prophets, past and future, are upon
this generation
Mt 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate
D. HE WILL DO WHAT HE HAS NOT DONE
1. DESTRUCTION
EZEKIEL
Ezek 5:4 A fire shall come forth into all the house of Israel
Ezek 5:5 God set Jerusalem in the midst of the nations
(note: Because he will one day rule from there
and to reveal to
the
world his judgments, both blessing and cursing.)
Ezek
5:6-8 Because Israel has not done as God had spoken,
they
shall pay the price and Jerusalem will be the center of
it, in the sight of
all the nations.
(note:
This wasn’t possible until TV and satellite.)
Ezek 5:9 God will do what he has not done and shall not do
again, because of Israel’s abominations.
Ezek 5:10 Cannibalism exists in Jerusalem, and Israel is
scattered to
the
four winds.
(note: This is probably because of the serious famine promised to come
in God’s four sore judgments.)
Ezek 5:11 Israel defiles God’s temple with detestable things
and abominations.
Ezek 5:12 Because of this Israel is destroyed by pestilence,
famine, the
sword, and the rest will be scattered to the
winds with a sword
after them.
(note: The first sword mentioned is probably held by the beast
5:17)
Ezek 5:13 Israel will know that God did what he said he would
do when
he has done it; accomplish his fury in them.
Ezek 5:14 God will make Israel a waste and a reproach among
the
nations round about her.
(note: Round about her has become the entire
world now. God has
also not made her a waste like it is foretold that he will.)
Ezek 5:15 All this is done that they shall be a taunt, a reproach,
an
instruction, and an astonishment unto the nations.
Ezek 6:8-10 God leaves a remnant that shall remember him and
hate the
things that they did against him. They shall know
God didn’t
speak his judgments in vain. What he said he
would do, he did.
JEREMIAH
Jer 7:29 The lord forsakes the generation of his wrath.
(note: The lord’s wrath comes in the Trib.)
Jer 7:30 The children of Judah do evil and set their abominations
in the
lord’s house to pollute it.
Jer 7:14 The lord does to the house and to the land like he did
Shiloh
Jer 7:34 He will cause to cease the voice of the bride and the
bridegroom.
(note: The bride and the bridegroom are Christ
and the church.
The
bride provokes Israel
to jealousy.)
V. THE FINAL END
A. THE REMNANT SEE
Deu 4:29 From there, any who seek God with their whole heart and
soul
shall find him
Deu 4:30 In the latter days, the Great Trib., they must seek with all
their heart
and soul to find God; but must be obedient also
Deu 4:32-34 God did mighty works to prove who he was and what
he could
do
Deu 4:35 This was all done to show Israel that God was God and
there is
no
other
Deu 4:34 God takes a nation from the midst of another nation
(note: During the Trib. God will take a nation
from among many nations.
This refers to Israel
but may also be speaking of the Christian nation taken
from among many nations, which is Egypt, with travail.)
Deu 30:1-2 Israel will remember
God when they are scattered. They
will return unto the lord with all their heart and soul
Deu 30:3 The lord will gather them from all nations
Deu 30:5 God will bless them
Deu 30:7 God will put the curses on Israel’s enemies
B. THE PROMISES RECEIVED
ISIAH
Is 14:1-3 Enemies of Israel will cling to them and serve them
Gen 25:23 Two nations were in Rebekah’s womb and the elder
shall serve the younger. One nation shall be stronger than
the other.
(note:
Jacob, Israel, was the younger;
and Esau, Edom, was the elder. Esau
has a
perpetual hatred for Jacob and has
passed down to the Arab nation
which is the stronger.
They are
Israel’s biggest enemy.)
Is 51:3 The wilderness is like Eden and the desert is like the garden
of
the
lord.
(note: This will come to pass , but not until
they see; which is in the
Great Trib.
Israel was made a desert and a
wilderness by God’s wrath. Until
then there will be no
peace; God
has not promised it. To the contrary, it has
been spoken that the
prophets who speak peace do lie. We are to pray for the
peace of Israel.
This is for the benefit
of the one praying so God can bless him
that blesses Israel.
Their peace is set.)
VI. GOD USES BAD
FOR THE GOOD
THE PEACE OF ISRAEL
A. THERE IS NONE
Ezek 13:10 & 16 Israel’s
prophets lie and say peace but there is no
peace. They build a wall with foolish things.
Jer 6:13-14 Prophets speak of peace to heal Israel’s hurt but there
is
no peace.
B. WHY NO PEACE
Rom 11:7-8 Only the election
can see. The rest are blinded, given a
spirit of
slumber, that they cannot see.
C. WHY ARE THEY BLINDED
Rom 11:11 Through their fall
salvation has come unto the gentiles,
for to
provoke Israel to jealousy
Rom 11:15 Casting them away is the cause for reconciling of the
world.
D. HOW LONG WILL THEY BE BLINDED
Rom 11:25 Blindness in part
is happened to Israel until the fullness of
the gentiles
E. WHEN WILL ISRAEL SEE
Is 35:5 Eyes will be opened when the lord comes with vengeance
Ezek 13:14 When the wall of the false prophet that speaks of peace
is broken
down, Israel will know God.
F. WHEN WILL ISRAEL BE PURGED OF FILTHINESS
Ezek 24:13 Israel is purged when the lord causes his fury to rest
on her
