Seeking The Lost Sheep In The Church:
 Who Don't Know They're Lost

BACK THE DECEIVED

THE GREAT DECEPTION

In Revelation the great deception is the belief of the world in a lie
perpetrated by the leader of the world.  Today we have a similar great
deception but there are no wonders to enforce it's reality.  It remains,
however, believing in lies that will bring condemnation to the believer in the
lie.  The following bible study endeavors to reveal what Jesus says about
certain issues and their counterparts in the falsehoods of today's belief
system.  Just because some pastor says it, does not make it the truth of
God.  The bible verses that follow shed light on some false beliefs in the
church today but it is up to you to seek the truth in these matters and stop
believing the lies.
If you believe some of the following and would rather continue
believing it, see THE FALLEN BELIEVER , GOD'S WARNINGS ,
SAVED and SALVATION.
I also repeat here to believe the bible, the word of God, not any
man; including me. You must, however, seek the truth if you don't want
to believe the lie.  When you do,  you'll see for yourself.  You will gain
ears that hear.  GOD LOVES YOU and has made a way for you.  Do
not stand on what you think you know.  Know for sure.  (see also MAN'S
DESTINY
)

DECEIVED BELIEVERS

A. Definitions by scripture, not opinion
    1. Believer: not one only knowing who Christ is but:
Jn 14:12 does the same and greater works than Christ
Mk 16:16-17 He that believeth not shall he damned. Them that believe
shall:  cast out devils, speak with new tongues, and lay hands on the
            sick and they shall recover.
Rom 6:22 a servant of God
These verses are truth; but the works are to be done according to
the will of God, not the will of the individual.

    2. Sinner includes all:
Jn 9:31 Those not worshipping God and those not doing God's will
    3. Son of God: not one only knowing who Christ is but:

I Jn 2:29 one doing righteousness
Jn 1:12 believers have the power to become sons (Not sons yet)

II Cor 6:17 those who come out, be separate, and touch not the
            unclean thing
Rom 8:14 one who is led by the spirit
    4. Grace is not a blanket of forgiveness but:

Titus 2:11-12 grace teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and
                Godly,  now
Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance - Grace is the divine influence
on the heart and its reflection in the life

B. False Doctrines (False doctrine followed by truth)
    1. God accepts good people

Heb 9:28 to them that seek him, he appears the second time unto
            salvation
Ja 2:10 Whoever shall keep the whole law, except for one point, is
            guilty of the whole law
Mk 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there
is none good but one, that is, God.
There are no good people, God accepts people in Christ.
    2. No change in lifestyle is required after the cross

Rom 6:22 now, being made free from sin and become servants of God
Mt 6:24 Ye cannot serve God and mammon
Mt 6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, then
all these things shall be added unto you.
Changing your lifestyle doesn't save you, being saved changes
        your lifestyle

    3. Believing is enough for salvation
Ja 2:19 The devil also believes and trembles (no faith)
Heb. 11:16 without faith it is impossible to please God
Ja 2:20 faith without works is dead (no faith)
Titus 1:16 they profess to know him but in works deny Him
Mt. 10:33 whoever denies me before men, him I will deny before
            my father
Head knowledge of Christ is not the same as believing.  The word
believe means 'to put trust in'.  This is not a passive word, it requires
        action.

    4. Warnings in the Bible are for unbelievers

II Tim 3:16-17 all scripture is inspired by God, that the man of God
may be perfect and thoroughly furnished
Heb 3:17 God grieved because his warnings weren't heeded or
believed and he swore they shall not enter into his rest
If one isn't heeding the warnings, then that one is an unbeliever because

        he's not believing the warning.
    5. One's pastor/minister is a man of God and infallible

Mt 24:4-5 Take heed that no man deceive you, for many shall come
in my name and shall deceive many
Mt 24:11 Many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive many
Pr 11:14 there is safety in a multitude of counselors
How does one know if their pastor is false or true?  The only way to
know is to hear from the true one through personal time in the Bible
        and prayer.

    6. Only the New Testament applies today

Mt 5:17 Jesus fulfilled the law
Mt 5:18 till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle
shall pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
Rom 11:17 we are grafted into the olive tree, Israel, and are become
partakers of it's root and fatness
The ten commandments still apply as do the prophesies yet to come.
    7. Once saved, always saved

Rom 3:25 blood declares Christ's righteousness for remission of past sins

Rom 1:16 the gospel is the power of God unto salvation
        Heb 5:9 Jesus is the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Salvation is a free gift from God that cannot be earned or bought; and God
does not repent of any gift that he gives.  The problem is knowing when
that gift is actually given, because it isn't at the cross, though it is by the cross.

Mt 7:14 strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and
few there be that find it.
Jn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life
Entering the gate does not gained one's salvation, but access to the way.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
                sinners, Christ died for us
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved
                from wrath through him.
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the
death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Being justified and reconciled does not gain eternal salvation but access to it.  In
other words, the first step is knowing who Jesus is and then continuing until one
knows Him.  Many people know who Jesus is and think they are saved but
until ones seeks to know Him, He doesn't know them.

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith
Heb 12:1 let us run with patience the race that is set before us
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith
        Heb 2:8
by grace are ye saved through faith
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Heb 11:6 without faith it is impossible to please him (God)
We are saved through faith, but faith is not simple head knowledge, it
is not passive.  One hears the commands of God, believes God will
supply, acts, receives, and faith grows.  The more one acts, the more
faith is gained.  God is pleased, not in our works, but in the faith we
demonstrate in Him through those works of obedience.

Ja 2:17-18 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.  Yea, a man
may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy
works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works

There is so much more to it but this is not the place for the rest.
See: Salvation Part One and Part Two  and much more.

     8. Bible reading isn't necessary
Mt 16:6 beware the leaven of the Pharisees (vs. 12 Leaven is doctrine)
Jn 6:35 Christ is the bread of life
Jn 6:51 if any man shall eat this bread, he shall never hunger
Mt 4:4 man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that
proceeds from the mouth of God.
How can one know if their pastor is false or not without knowing for oneself
what God actually said.  How can one truly know without breaking bread
with the one and only true shepherd.

    9. The Bible isn't always correct

Mk 7:7 in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrine, men’s
                commandments
Mk 7:8 laying aside the commandments of God
Mk 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition
II Tim 3:16 all scripture is by inspiration of God
II Tim 4:3 the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine
1Pe 1:23 the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever
1Pe 1:25 the word of the Lord endureth for ever
Any person who believes one or more verses in the Bible are wrong is
calling God a liar according to
II Tim 3:16.  When one denies or changes
any part of the Bible; they have, in essence, started their own bible.  If
one says it was written by man and thereby fallible they call God a liar.  God
dictated and man put in writing God's words.  If one says that it was written in
another time and needs to change to fit today's world, they belittle God and His
ability.  If they change it to fit today's world, it is no longer God's word, but their
own words and they run the risk of eternal damnation.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy
of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the
plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Because God knew the future He knew that Revelation would be
the last book of the Bible.  Therefore, I believe He spoke these words including
Genesis to Revelation as the book, The Bible.  Further credibility to this comes
        in the next verse.

Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is
            called The Word of God
What is called "The Word of God" except for the collection of writings "Genesis
to Revelation"?  From this we can presume that Jesus' name is "Gen to Rev".
For further evidence of this see: The Name of Jesus

    10. The cross does it all for salvation

II Cor 6:17 Come out from among them, touch not the unclean thing,
and be ye separate - then I'll receive you
II Cor 7:1 let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and
spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God
Rev 19:7 the lords wife made herself ready
Rev 7:14 some come out of Great Tribulation and have washed their
robes and made them white in the lamb's blood

(Note: We are not given dirty robes)

Phil 2:12 work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
Col 3:6 for these things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of
disobedience:  fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil
concupiscence, covetousness, and disobedience which is idolatry
(Note: The devil encourages these things so disobedience would
only concern  God and his children, yet the wrath of God is upon
them even though it isn’t appointed unto them.)
    11. Believers can't be separated from Christ

Heb 13:5 I will never leave thee or forsake thee
(Note: This is not a license to sin freely.  Read this passage again
and you'll  find  that it is in reference to the ones doing it God's way
        and being holy.)

IT IS SPOKEN TO THOSE WHO:

Heb 13:1 show brotherly love and continue in it
                    Heb 13:2 entertain strangers
Heb 13:3 remember those in the body who suffer adversity
            AND HEED WARNINGS:
Heb 13:4 whoremongers and adulterers God will judge
Heb 13:5 be not covetous but be ye content so the Lord is
                        claimed as helper
            AND THEN
Heb 13:5 Christ never leaves or forsakes

(Note: Those believers going to the pit left and forsook Christ,

even with all his warnings.)
