CONDEMNED BELIEVERS/LOST SHEEP
This section reveals where some believers stand
in God's eyes. Scripture gives many
examples of salvation lost. Lost doesn't mean God
took it back; but
rather that one never
really found it. Common Salvation is received at the
cross, but
Eternal Life (Mt 7:14) is found
along the way. (see
Salvation: Two Parts)
Heb 3:17 God grieved because he had warned them that
they would not enter, but they didn't believe him so they didn't enter. They didn't enter because of
unbelief. Searching the word of
God reveals that unbelief is
more than not believing in Jesus Christ, but includes those who
refuse
to do it God's way. These are not the ones who fail, but those who refuse.
(see
God's
Warnings)
A. The Defiled
1. The profaned
Rev 21:27
nothing shall enter that:
Defileth
(make profane)
Worketh abominations
Maketh a lie
(claiming Christ as lord/master
and then not living it)
Mt 15:18 One's words
defile him
Mt 15:19-20
these things defile a man: evil thoughts, murder, adultery,
fornication, theft, false witness, blasphemy
2. The Soiled
Rev 3:4 a
few names have undefiled garments and shall walk with me in white
Rev 7:14 some miss the rapture and wash their robes during the Great
Tribulation
I Cor 8:7
defiled from a weak conscience
Rev 14:4 defiled with women, virgins are not defiled
3. Contaminated
Heb 12:15
many are defiled by roots of bitterness springing up
Titus 1:15
nothing is pure to the defiled, their mind and conscience is defiled
Titus 1:16
these profess to know God but in works deny him, being abominable
and
disobedient
B. Believers Who Make A Lie
Rom 1:18 the wrath of God is
upon all who hold the truth in unrighteousness
Rom 1:19 because what may be
known of God, they have been shown
Rom 1:20
they are without excuse
Rom 1:21 when they knew God,
they glorified him not as God, neither were
thankful but became
vane in their imaginations and their foolish
heart was darkened
Rom 1:22 professing themselves
to be wise they became fools
Rom 1:32 knowing the
judgment
of God, that those doing such things are worthy
of
death, yet do the same things and have pleasure in others that do them
(pornography?)
II Tim 3:7 ever learning but
never coming to the knowledge of the truth
II Tim 3:8 they resist the
truth, men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith
Titus 1:16 they profess to know
God but in works deny him
II Cor 13:5 examine yourselves whether ye be in
the faith, prove yourselves, Jesus
is in you if not reprobate
C. Family And Countrymen
Mt 13:54-58 Christ taught his
countrymen,
he amazed
them with his wisdom and mighty works,
they were so
astonished that they were offended,
they asked
where he received his abilities,
is this not
the carpenter's son,
is not his
mother called Mary,
is not his
brethren James etc..,
is his
family not all with us,
then how
does he do these things,
Jesus said a
prophet is not without honor except in his Own house and country,
he did not
do many mighty works there because of their unbelief
(Note: He taught them; so they didn’t just hear, they understood –
they
were
offended because they were jealous - they denied his position
calling him the carpenter’s son)
Mt
12:50 Christ's real family is those who do the fathers will
D. Hearers
Heb 3:16 some provoke God after
they've heard
Heb 3:17 God grieved because he
had sworn that they wouldn't enter his rest,
but they didn't
believe his warnings. They didn't enter because of unbelief.
(Note: The cross
is, to a Christian, what leaving Egypt is to Israel. One isn’t
in the kingdom yet. Entering depends upon one’s attitude along the
path
through the desert.)
E. Reprobates
Heb 6:4 it is impossible for
them that were once enlightened and have tasted the
heavenly
gift and were partakers of the Holy Spirit
Heb 6:5 and have tasted the
good work of God and the power of the world to come
Heb 6:6 If they should fall
away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing they
crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame
F. Followers
1 Cor 10:5 all our fathers were
under the cloud, all passed through the
sea, all were baptized to
Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all
drank the same spiritual drink
(Christ) yet many were overthrown
in the
wilderness
1 Cor
10:7 they were idolaters because they sat down to eat and drink
but rose up to
play
1 Cor 10:8 in one day 23,000
fell by fornication
1 Cor 10:9 serpents destroyed
some who tempted Christ
1 Cor 10:10 some murmured and
were destroyed of the destroyer
Mt 18:15-17
if a brother offend thee, tell him alone.
If he won't
hear, take 1 or 2.
If he hears them not, tell the
church.
Count him
as a heathen and expel him
(spew him out Rev 3:16)
G. The Church
Ja 5:19-20 brethren, if any of
you do err from the truth and one convert
him, he that converteth
the sinner from the error of his ways saveth
a soul from death
Ez 18:24 when the righteous
turn from righteousness, he shall die
Mal 3:7
return to me and I will return to you
H. The Branch
1. The Vine
Jn 15:1 am
the vine ye are the branches.
Some
branches in Christ bear no fruit
They are
withered…gathered…cast into the fire
2. The Olive Tree
Rom 11: we
are grafted into the olive tree, which is Israel, and
the root is Christ...we
shall be removed if not bearing fruit
I. The Servant
Rom 6:22 now, being made free
from sin, and become servants of God
Lk 12:45-47 a servant loses his
fear of the Lord's return because he has
time…
He begins to
party and treat men badly.. the Lord returns when
not expected.. that servant gets
his portion with the unbelievers. .
he loses even what he has.. .he receives his
portion separated
from the Lord.. he will be beaten with many stripes.. he
knew
the Lord's will, but prepared not, nor did the Lord's will
J. The Blind
II Tim 2:13 if we believe not,
yet he abideth faithful, he cannot deny
himself
(Note: The blind think that this verse gives them the freedom to live as they
choose. In truth it is referring to Christ’s
obligation to the
Father and to the word (himself). He must judge sinners even if
they think
they are home free. Ps 138:2 Thou hast magnified thy word
above all thy
name.)
K. Parable
(Note: Though they believe in the rapture and Christ’s coming for them,
many believers miss the rapture and have to go through
the Great
Tribulation to wash their robes in the blood of the lamb. Rev 7:14
God
doesn’t give dirty robes.)
Mt 25:1 10 virgins took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom
Mt 25:2
5 were wise 5 were foolish
Mt 25:5
the bridegroom tarried
Mt 25:8
the 5 foolish let their lamps go out
Mt 25:10
the 5 foolish are gone to buy oil when the bridegroom comes
Mt 25:11
the 5 foolish cry out to get in because the door is shut
Mt 25:12
the bridegroom says he doesn't know them
(Note:
The lamp is the word .
The oil is the Holy Spirit to let the light shine.
The virgins are believers
5 live in the word and 5 only hear the word
One’s life is the only payment acceptable for the
oil
The more life surrendered, the brighter the light.
The light reveals one’s life, and changes in it are
payment for
more oil.)
